Retro Girly (レトロガーリー) is a substyle of Girly with a vintage twist.

Style Basics[]

Retro Girly is one of the most distinct styles within Girly. Although it still focuses on a cute feel, as well as incorporating frills, it has many aspects unique to it.

The color pallet of retro girly is generally more neutral, with less pastels being used, and not necessary to wear the style. Tweed, tartan, and plaid vintage fabrics are often used, as well as dark and light browns, greys, and blacks. The style is reminiscent of vintage 1950s American and Parisienne fashion styles, but other vintage time periods and styles can also be seen. Berets are commonly worn, as well as sweaters. Actual vintage pieces are sometimes used, as well as new vintage-like pieces. [1][2]

Common silhouettes in the style include one base dress with details, or a blouse with a patterned skirt.
